China against India
China has filed a complaint against India
China's Ministry of Commerce announced in a statement that their country has filed a complaint against India at the World Trade Organization (WTO) for providing unfair subsidies to domestic manufacturers of electric vehicles and batteries.
mAliworldNews: In a statement published today, Wednesday, in the Global Times, it was said that Beijing's representatives have formally submitted a request for consultations with India under the WTO dispute settlement procedure. This request concerns subsidies related to the production and development of electric vehicles and batteries in India.
The statement emphasized that India's actions violate several commitments, including the principle of national treatment, and constitute a form of import-substituting subsidies, which are clearly prohibited under WTO regulations.
China's Ministry of Commerce also stated that it is committed to taking resolute measures to effectively defend the legitimate rights and interests of its domestic industries.
China urged India to comply with its responsibilities under the WTO and promptly rectify its mistakes.
