Bollywood film director's Diwali post
A Bollywood film director's Diwali post shamed humanity; those who read it said your thinking is worse than your films.
A post made by Bollywood film director Ram Gopal Varma on the occasion of Diwali has caused an uproar on social media. In just a few hours, more than 1.3 million people have viewed his controversial statement.
mAliworldNews: According to Indian media reports, in a post made by director Ram Gopal Varma on the occasion of Diwali, he compared the Diwali celebrated in India to the ongoing destruction in Gaza, which has led to severe criticism from all sides. On Diwali night at around eight o'clock, Ram Gopal Varma wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "In India, Diwali happens only one day, but in Gaza, Diwali happens every day." Along with this, he also added three fire emojis. Within moments, this post quickly went viral and became a topic of debate.
Several social media users have called this statement insensitive and inhumane sarcasm. One user wrote, "It will take you years to become human; you don't know the difference between happiness and destruction." Another user sarcastically wrote, "A disgusting way to seek attention. You should be awarded the best documentary film."
Expressing anger on social media, one user said, "I am shocked to see the garbage in your mind. You have made a mockery of a sacred festival like Diwali. Your thinking is worse than your films." Renowned writer Ashok Kumar Pandey also expressed anger at Verma and wrote, "I never thought you would fall so low." Meanwhile, one person said, "Gaza does not need your dark humor, it needs humanity. There is no celebration in war."
It is worth noting that since October 7, 2023, more than 68,000 Palestinians have been martyred and over 170,000 injured in Gaza. About 80 percent of the buildings have been destroyed. Thousands of homeless people are now returning to northern Gaza, but destruction and chaos await them there. Observers believe that the oppression Israel is committing in Gaza is one of the worst chapters in human history.
