According to reports, three Qatari diplomats have been killed and two others injured in a tragic accident in the Egyptian coastal city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

According to the Qatari embassy in Cairo, there were five Qataris in the car and the driver was Egyptian. Two Qataris were also injured in the accident. The injured have been transferred to Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital for treatment. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical, while the condition of the other is said to be stable.

In a statement on Sunday, the Qatari embassy said the three men worked for the Emiri Diwa the administrative office of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The embassy described the incident as a tragic traffic accident.

According to Al Jazeera, a statement issued by the Egyptian President's office said that leaders from more than 20 countries will participate in the conference.
